(1) The Responsibility of Oxbridge Academy

  1. Oxbridge Academy is an online matching platform whose responsibility is to pair tutors with parents or students, let them better understand each other and allow tutors to provide tutorial services.

  2. The relationship between Oxbridge Academy and the tutor is a relationship between a platform service provider and a platform service consumer. There is no employment relationship between the two parties. Except for using the platform to provide tutorial services, the tutor's other affairs have nothing to do with Oxbridge Academy.

  3. Oxbridge Academy will handle tuition fees earned by tutors through the platform and charge tutors for a service fee according with the Terms and Conditions.

  4. Oxbridge Academy shall not be held liable for any dispute between a parent or student or tutor, or for any liability, claim, claim, compensation (material or indirect) arising out of the dispute.

  5. Oxbridge Academy is an intermediary which collects and transfer user data passively, and Oxbridge Academy is not able to confirm the true identity and education background of each platform user. In order to ensure the security of the users, any user should not, under any circumstances, disclose their personal contacts (including but not limited to telephone, email, WeChat, etc.) to other users to prevent any possible fraud, as well as security issues.

  6. Oxbridge Academy will not be held liable for any action of any user who violates the Terms and Conditions.

 

(2) The Responsibility of the Tutor

  1. When any tutor registers as a user on Oxbridge Academy's platform, the tutor agrees to the full Terms and Conditions of Oxbridge Academy.

  2. Tutor must ensure that the personal information used for registration is true and that the tutor did not violated any laws in any region in the past, otherwise Oxbridge Academy reserves the right to terminate the user’s right to use the platform immediately and to forfeit all fees earned by the tutor through the platform.

  3. After accepting the request for an online classroom appointment from a parent or student through the platform, the tutor must provide the student with the relevant online class on the date and time agreed upon by both parties. Tutors may not change or reduce class hours at will without the consent of their parents or students, otherwise they will be required to refund the relevant classroom fees.

  4. The tutor agrees to authorize Oxbridge Academy to be free from any laws and Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and to use any registration data for publicity purposes and to display all registration data if necessary.

  5. The tutor agrees not to pursue any damages a result of the failure of the Oxbridge Academy computer system or online platform.

  6. The tutor must not use Oxbridge Academy's online platform to carry out any illegal or unethical conduct. Tutors may not cheat with parents or students (including booking fake classes, posting false tutor reviews, etc.). Oxbridge Academy reserves the right to terminate the rights of any tutor who violates the Terms and Conditions to use the platform and to forfeit the fees earned by the tutor through the platform.

 

(3) Class Arrangements

  1. Tutors, students or parents can arrange and agree on the date and time of the online class through the platform.

  2. After the tutor, student or parent confirmed to each other the date and time of the online class, if a party wishes to change the date and time of the online class, the request must be made to the other party at least 48 hours before the class starts, and the new class date and time must be agreed by the other party in before it takes effect.

  3. The tutor must send the student a class link 1 hour before the start of the online class and press the check-in button on the platform at the beginning of the class.

 

(4) Cancellation of Classes, Absences and Refunds

  1. After the tutor, student or parent confirms the date and time of the online classroom to each other, if a party wishes to cancel the relevant online class, the request must be made to the other party 48 hours before the class starts, and the cost of the online class will be refunded to the student or parent in full.

  2. If a student is absent from class, or if a class is cancelled in less than 48 hours before it starts, the student or parent will still be required to pay the tutor for the class in accordance with the original terms, and may not request a refund for the class.

  3. If a tutor misses a class, forgets to send a class link to a student, forgets to check in, or asks a student or parent to cancel a class in less than 48 hours before the class starts, the student or parent has the right to request a refund for the class. The tutor will not receive any fees from that class, and the tutor will be fined the equivalent of 10% of the fee of that class.

 

(5) Service Charge

  1. Oxbridge Academy charges a platform service fee equivalent to 20% of the fees earned by the tutor, which is deducted directly from the proceed when Oxbridge Academy distributes the proceed to the tutor.

  2. Oxbridge Academy reserves the right to make any changes to fees and charges and user terms from time to time. Oxbridge Academy will not notify users separately regarding any changes in policy.

 

(6) Legal Rights

  1. Oxbridge Academy reserves the right to take legal action against the user for any illegal actions and wrongdoings.

  2. Shall any user violate the Terms and Conditions, Oxbridge Academy reserves the right to terminate the user’s right to use the platform immediately.
