My name is Mathilde Morin, I am a fresh graduate from the University of Oxford (MSc in Social Anthropology, Distinction). My mother tongue is French, and I am very confident I can teach French and French literature, as I have done so in the past living in Japan, teaching students aged from 10 to 60 years old.
Having studied philosophy, literature, and history in France and in Japan, I can also teach such topics to students. Finally, I was a tutor at the John Locke Oxford-Princeton Insitute last year in Oxford, and have great experience in mentoring students. I indeed helped students find their paths by helping them understand what they were meant to do and how they could achieve their goals.
My tutoring style and ethos are inspired by my own style and ethos in life: I consider simply work as primordial and that is the message I ultimately want to convey to my students. This means I want to give students the taste of challenge and demonstrate that this is the unique path to excellence. More deeply, I like to show my students that the path to excellence can be fun in and of itself: learning is the gateway to freedom and curiosity makes well-rounded individuals! As a global-minded researcher at heart raised and trained in elite cross-cultural settings, I draw on multiples approaches to teach: French Cartesian rigor, Japanese attention to detail and taste for perfection, and British concision and efficiency.
