I studied Music at Girton College, Cambridge, before gaining a Distinction in my MSt (Masters) in Musicology at Oxford University. I am currently working on a DPhil (Doctorate) at Oxford University. My doctorate is interdisciplinary, focusing on Music during the Nazi occupation of France, and incorporates History, Literature and Musicology. Whilst working on my doctorate I have tutored both Oxford Undergraduates and school age children, strengthening their core subjects, particularly Maths and English. Outside my academic work and tutoring I have interests in photography and cooking.
I have been teaching since 2008, meaning I have 12 years experience in tutoring. This has covered a wide range of ages and subjects, from five year olds, to tutoring Oxford undergraduates. I have particular experience helping students who would like to develop their core skills in Maths and English, with ages 4-16, including GCSE preparation and support. I am currently teaching primarily online and have experience with Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Having been a part of the Admissions process for the Oxford Music Faculty, and having been a co-interviewer in the Oxford University entrance process, I am well-placed to help university applicants, and have experience in this. I am a qualified teacher of English as a Foreign Language and have experience supporting students who need extra support with their English language alongside their studies. I have experience with editing and proof-reading graduate thesis at Oxford University and am a member of the society of editors and proofreaders, meaning that I am well placed to help students who need guidance with essay structure or support with their dissertations.
