My name is Charlie and I am soon to be a fully qualified music teacher having finished my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) through the University College London (UCL). Throughout my training I was identified as achieving "excellent progress" towards the national teacher standards at both schools I worked at. During both placements I was responsible for developing schemes of work and assessments for year groups 7 to 13 as well as assessing and moderating coursework for GCSE and A Level assessments. Furthermore, I have worked consistently to ensure that every pupil has equal access to quality education and have experience working with students who have English as an additional langauge as well as students with special educational needs or disabilities. As a classroom teacher, I have an up to date enchanced DBS certificate.
On a one to one basis, I have over 6 years experience as a private tutor specialising in Maths to GCSE level and Music to A Level and have worked with students to acheive qualifications from a variety of exam boards such as Edexcel and OCR for core subjects and ARBSM and Trinity for music theory and instrumental grades. I have a detailed understanding of GCSE specifications for Maths and Sciences as well and have developed extensive exam preperation techniques. As a music teacher I have acheived grade 8 in both the Guitar and Music Theory and have vast experience teaching both to suit a variety of needs.
Photos attached are the transcript and certificate from The University of Southampton certifying that I have been awarded a BA (Hons) in Music.
My PGCE certificate is pending the completion of the course this month.
